Operational IT Security Specialist
The Total Defence Research Institute (FOI) is a government agency conducting world-leading research in defense and security to support Sweden's military and civil defense. The research spans several areas, including underwater, cyber defense, space, electronic warfare, sensor systems, civil defense, CBRNe (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances), military platforms including weapons and protection, as well as security policy analyses. FOI's research plays a key role in building Sweden's defense capability.

About the Position
We are looking for an operational IT security specialist who wants to work in a dynamic and technical environment with direct security measures, incident management, and threat detection. You will be part of a team of dedicated and experienced employees tasked with detecting, analyzing, responding to, and preventing security threats, becoming a key player in ensuring the security and integrity of our IT environment. As an operational IT security specialist, you will work hands-on to protect and strengthen our IT infrastructure. Your work will include both preventive and reactive measures to identify, analyze, and neutralize security threats. Some work will also be done in project form.
About the Unit
You will be part of the IT unit, which belongs to the Research Support department.

Requirements
We see that you have:
- Post-secondary education in IT security, or extensive professional experience in IT security work.
- A strong interest in IT security issues and keeping up to date in the field.
- The ability and willingness to continuously improve working methods, processes, and methods.
- Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.
- Driving license B.
Meritorious
It is meritorious if you have experience in any of the following:
- Logging
- Security protection analyses
- Regulatory compliance
- IT architecture
- Security work in larger organizations
- Private sector
- Experience in group leadership

The position is a permanent employment that may start with a six-month probationary period.
